Schlapp has never strayed from her goals, and she collaborated closely to work closely with White House policy and political teams. So far her main focus has included issues like the safety of schools, trade and the opioid epidemic. As of now she doesn't deal too much with journalists. She garnered some interest after her name came up as a possible contender to succeed Hope Hicks in the role as communications director. It hasn't been an easy fight. Schlapp allied with Tony Sayegh who was also running for office. They began sparring in media. Following The Washington Examiner published a negative report on Sayegh Schlapp said she called the candidate to be relationship with her.
